At KFC we really believe that fresh is best - all our stores get fresh chicken delivered from our two chicken producers, Tegel and Ingham’s.
We use the same chicken sold at your local supermarket and like that chicken, there is always variances in the sizes of the pieces.
As per Colonel Sanders original recipe, the chicken is cut into nine anatomical pieces - two thighs, two wings, two drums, two ribs and the breast piece.. The product is provided to us according to specific weight range parameters, and on occasion the lower or upper weight range of these specifications can be supplied.
We have a minimum size allowance that we regularly monitor to ensure Tegel and Ingham's provide us with a consistent quality product. See how our chicken is made here.
