Q: What is Gonna Wanna Keep Your Hand on the Snack Box?
It’s the ultimate endurance challenge for Kiwis to celebrate the launch of our new Gonna Wanna Every Day Deals. On Saturday, 16th May, a giant Snack Box is landing in Te Te Komititanga Square, and all you have to do is put your hand on it and keep it there. The last person standing wins their share of $10,000 cash.

Q: What are the rules?
The rules are simple - place your hand on the box and keep it there. The last person with their hand on the Snack Box wins. Participants must stand the entire time, keeping their hand in the same spot on the box the entire time. Wheelchair users must keep their hands in the same spot on the box the entire time.
Participants must choose which hand they use before the activation starts; they cannot swap hands.

Q: How do I enter?
You must be aged 16 or older. Head to our Instagram or Facebook and follow the instructions on the Gonna Wanna post to register. Registrations are open from 9:00 am, Thursday 07 May until 5:00 pm, Saturday 10 May. T&Cs apply - check out the link in our bio.

Q: How will I know if I’ve been selected?
We'll reach out to the 50 selected participants via direct message on Monday, 11 May, so keep an eye on your Instagram and Facebook DMs. Make sure your messages aren't set to restricted so we can get in touch!
Q: Can I enter as a group or a team?
Registrations are individual, but nothing is stopping you from entering with your mates and showing up together to cheer each other on. Just note that only registered participants will be able to take part in the challenge.
Q: What if I register but can’t make it on the day?
Life happens! If you're selected but can no longer make it, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to another participant. Selected participants must sign in at Te Komititanga Square between 9 - 9:45 am on Saturday, 16 May. No-shows after that time will, unfortunately, forfeit their spot.
Q: Can I enter more than once to increase my chances of being selected?
Only one entry per person. Please make sure you follow the instructions on the post carefully to ensure your entry is valid. T&Cs apply - check out the link in our bio

What if my hand accidentally slips off?
Once your hand leaves the box, you’re out - whether it’s intentional or not, so make sure you’ve got a firm grip and stay focused.
Who decides if someone's hand has left the box?
Event officials will be on site throughout the challenge to monitor all participants and make the final call on any disputes. Their decision is final.
Can I lean on the box, or can it only be my hand?
Only your hand needs to be on the box. Participants must remaining standing upright with only their hand on their hand resting on the box. Full T&Cs are linked in our bio.
What happens if there is a medical emergency?
The safety of participants is our top priority. We will have event staff and first aid on site throughout the duration of the day. If you have any known health conditions, we strongly encourage to consult your doctor before registering.

Q: What should I bring/wear on the day?
Comfortable clothes and supportive shoes are a must as you could be on your feet for a while. We’d recommend bringing a hat (sunscreen will be provided) and a warm layer for once the sun starts to go down.
Q: Is there somewhere to park nearby?
Te Komititanga Square is in the heart of Auckland CBD, so we recommend using public transport where possible. There are several parking buildings nearby, and the square is easily accessible by bus, train, or ferry. Check AT Journey Planner for the best route from your area.
Q: What happens if I need to go to the toilet?
Nature calls - we get it. You’ll get 4 x 10-minute bathroom breaks throughout the activation. Your spot will be held with a KFC red hand cutout, and you’ll be chaperoned to a nearby public bathroom by a KFC member.
Q: Can I eat or drink while participating?
Yes! We will provide KFC, water and snacks throughout the day to keep you fuelled to stay in the competition.
Q: How do I receive the $10,000 cash prize if I win?
Winners will be confirmed on the day. Our team will be in touch by Monday, 18th May, to arrange prize delivery details, and how and when you'll receive your winnings will be shared at that time.
Q: Can I bring friends and family to watch?
Absolutely, the more the merrier! Te Komititanga Square is a public space, so friends and whānau are welcome to come along and cheer you on. Just note that only registered participants will be permitted in the competition zone.
Q: Will KFC be filming on the day? What if I don’t want to be in the content?
Yes. We will have a crew on site capturing the action throughout the day, including live streams from KFC and Jimi Jackson’s channels.. As a registered participant, please be aware that you may appear in photos and video content used across KFC's social channels and beyond. By entering, you agree to feature in this content.
